Daylily by Tanya McDonald

Kingfisher will be open for submissions the entire month of August. It’s my goal to respond to submissions within 5–7 days of receipt, because I know no one likes to wait for a response, especially when there are a number of other fine journals which are also open at this time (see list below). As I discovered with issue 3, this respond-as-I-go technique has its pros and cons, especially because I’m trying to keep each issue around the same number of pages, but the benefits of this method outweigh the challenges, so that’s my plan.

I’m looking for 5–10 of your best, unpublished haiku/senryu. Show me something I’ve seen before, but from a new angle. Show me something fresh and authentic to your life and your experience. Most of all, I want to be dazzled, and I want my readers to be dazzled, too. For complete submission guidelines, please visit: https://kingfisherjournal.com/submissions/ I look forward to reading your work!

The following journals are also open for submissions in August (or some portion of August). Please check their websites for details and consider supporting them (the first six are print journals).
